Inter-cluster Protocol

(Redirected from Telepathy)

The Inter-cluster Protocol (ICP) is commonly called Telepathy. A sophant with a nervous system that can directly interact with radio can learn this protocol. They can use it to share experiences, sensations, memories, emotions, thoughts, and ideas, all while retaining their individual identity.

Tetrapods and other aliens use this complex protocol to interact with each other. It is not a language in the human sense. The pods share intentions, sensations, and memories, without integrating into a single consciousness. This is distinct from the Distributed Mind Protocol that integrates separate physical brains into a single consciousness.

This protocol has been integrated into new machine intelligences that are learning to translate all this into languages that humans can understand. Full AR is needed for this. Spoken language does not have the bandwidth to convey the experience properly. Augments with a neural lace can use this protocol.
