High Concept: Growing Intelligence Running on Ravenous, Vicious, Self-Replicating Hellbeast Meatware.
Trouble: Our body and mind can not resist Mind Melds - if you have the crypto key.

  • Death Becomes Two: When a body dies the right eyes spawn two new mini-Sammael in 30 seconds, unless they are destroyed immediately (fire, acid, crushing, and electrocution are the most reliable). After two minutes the spawn are fully grown.
  • Amphibious: We are equally deadly in air or water - and a lot harder to burn when wet.
  • Jake is Enemy #1: We are aware that Jake can take control of any of our host on a whim. This must cease.
  • Droo is Enemy #2: We are aware that Droo can ignore the protections that Jake has used to isolate our mind from other intelligences. This must cease.
  • Shadows Is Our Creator: Though our intelligence was not Its intention, our existence was, and we are grateful to It.

Appearance

Sammael's individual bodies are hideous humanoid monstosities. Greenish grey, two eyes on the right, one on the left, and gaping, fanged jaws are only the start. The writhing tentacle mane emits a sulphurous stench. The long arms are powerful and clawed. Oh, and it's mind is a collective, now that Jake has created an infectious, mind controlling neural lace for them.

The bodies - or nodes - of the networked hellbeast.

Backstory

Created by Shadows to help defend itself, Sammael was not supposed to become a self-directed networked intelligence. In seeking a way to defend themselves against the beasts, Willow, Taylor, and Jake came up with a self-replicating nano-bot based lace that invasively installed itself in their brains. Although Sammael-spawn manifest without the lace, they are almost always infected immediately. The lace has a hard-stop command to hunt down and infect unmodified bodies, fast-zombie style, so the host tends to grow rapidly.

Respawning takes a lot of magical power (DC17). Sammael has five stress slots and HF2, so the avearage respawn starts with the 4 and 5 stress slots filled.
